When Good Design Goes bad

Next session is on Tues 6th October entitled “When Good design Goes Bad” by Bob Duffy (SQL Server MVP and Certified Architect)

This is a light hearted look at best practices and when they go wrong.

Come along to debate arguments as

  • Don’t use stored Procedures
  • Use heaps instead of clustered tables
  • Use GUIDS instead of Identity for Primary Keys
  • Stop using naming conventions
  • Don’t bother with partitioning
  • Embrace the ORM and nvarchar (max) parameters
