The next SQL Server Ireland User Group meeting is “CI for DBs and SQL Server Data Tools” on Thursday 31st July 2014 at 18:30.
Note that this user group is to be held at the Wonga offices in Sir John Rogerson Quay in the City centre. Wonga run some most of their critical platforms on SQL Server while still working in an very Agile environment. They are kindly showing some of the techniques they use to make this happen – should be very interesting!

Session 1: How many DBAs does it take to deploy changes to your databases 250 times a day?
At Wonga the answer is 0 .
Wonga is the most aggressive adopter of CI for DBs that I ve been involved in. Under normal circumstances all database deployments are done automatically with zero manual involvement. That includes a full ETL process, including CDC, and HDS.
In this talk we will go through why we do it, how we do it and the mistakes we ve made.
This will enable you to convince your boss that you should be doing it.
Speaker: Simon Sabin, SQL Server MVP and MCM
Session 2: Using T4 Code generation with SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).
How to avoid repetitive tasks and fit into a CI Environment
Demos of these tools in action.
Speaker: Geoff Clark, SQL Serer MCM
